The b54 code of conduct covers the venue, event platforms, messages, travel arranged by organizers, and related social activity. It applies to participants, organizers, volunteers, mentors, judges, vendors, partners, and guests.

Before opening

• Name an incident lead and backup who are not both involved in the same complaint. • Publish a private reporting method and campus emergency contacts. • Confirm exits, first aid, sanitation, drinking water, power safety, accessibility, and venue security. • Brief the team on confidentiality, evidence preservation, non-retaliation, and when to call emergency services.

Harassment, discrimination, threats, violence, stalking, unwanted sexual attention, deliberate intimidation, retaliation, weapons, alcohol, and unsafe activity are prohibited. Act first to stop immediate harm: separate people, obtain medical or security help, and preserve privacy. Record facts and witnesses, not rumors. Do not promise secrecy you cannot legally maintain or conduct a public investigation.

The incident lead may warn, remove, or suspend access while b54 reviews. Serious harm, suspected crime, safeguarding concern, or imminent danger must be escalated to the appropriate institution or authority. Minors require a written safeguarding plan approved before registration.
