Propose through the platform
Propose partners in the platform. Do not sign, accept money, or announce anything for b54.
Protect participants and judging

Use supplied partner files
Use only the exact partner files supplied, through the media approval flow.
Record prizes before promotion
Promote a prize only after b54 records its provider, value, terms, and delivery.
Prizes go directly to winners
b54 or the partner pays each winner directly. Never handle a prize yourself.
Builders keep their work

Partners and commercial activity
Campus Reps may propose local institutions, communities, vendors, in-kind supporters, and commercial partners. A proposal is not approval. Do not sign for b54, accept money or assets for b54, promise category exclusivity, sell participant access, or announce a relationship. b54 approves and attaches partners to the Build in the platform and may assign an existing b54 partner to an event.
Before approval, record the partner’s legal or trading name, contact, role, cash or in-kind contribution, commercial value, requested visibility, deliverables, dates, conflicts, and any restrictions. The approved record controls what may be said and delivered. Side agreements, hidden commissions, referral fees, personal benefits, pay-to-speak arrangements, and benefits tied to judging or results are prohibited.
Partner access is bounded
• No attendee or member list, private contact data, unrestricted messaging, guaranteed recruitment leads, or access to private submissions. • No judging influence, guaranteed finalist or winner, preferential deadline, private challenge change, or undisclosed product requirement. • No project IP, repository access, commercial licence, first refusal, investment right, or publicity right unless the relevant owner accepts a separate written arrangement. • Any optional partner session, recruitment contact, product credit, mentorship, or follow-up must be accurately described and use participant opt-in where personal data is shared.
Names, logos, and campaign assets
Use only the current b54 template and the exact partner files supplied or approved for the event. Keep clear space, proportions, colours, attribution order, and any expiry date. Do not redraw, recolour, animate, crop, combine, scrape from the web, imply endorsement, or create an unapproved co-brand. Submit every co-branded file and caption through the media approval flow. Stop use and remove unpublished materials when approval expires or is withdrawn.
Prizes
A prize may be promoted only after b54 records or approves its provider, exact description, number available, value and currency, eligible recipients, allocation for team members, selection basis, material conditions, delivery method, and expected delivery date. Results are provisional until central eligibility and integrity checks are complete. Do not substitute a prize, reduce it, deduct organizer costs, split it privately, or promise anything outside the approved record.
Delivery is strictly direct. b54 or the approved prize partner pays or delivers each verified named winner’s allocation directly. A Campus Rep, volunteer, judge, campus organization, institution, or other intermediary must never receive or redistribute a winner’s prize. The winner pays no release or processing fee. Keep recipient details private and upload confirmation plus a transaction or fulfilment reference as protected prize-fulfilment evidence.
Project IP and required deliverables
Participants keep ownership of their original project, code, designs, inventions, and pre-existing work. Submission, judging, publicity, or winning does not transfer ownership to b54, a Campus Rep, or a partner. Teams must disclose and respect third-party, open-source, generated, employer, university, sponsor, and pre-existing rights, and must not submit secrets or material they cannot authorize.
The required repository, demo video, project description, README contribution statements and disclosures, and related submission material give b54 a non-exclusive, worldwide, royalty-free licence to host, copy, review, test, judge, archive, and factually display the work for the event and b54 program. They do not give b54 or a partner the right to sell or commercialize the project. Investment, incubation, employment, licensing, assignment, or expanded access always requires a separate written agreement with the owner, and declining it does not affect a result or earned prize.
b54 retains its pre-existing brand, templates, challenge materials, platform, and program assets; partners retain theirs. People submitting event reports, approved promotional files, photographs, interviews, or highlight media must have the necessary rights and consent and permit b54 to store, edit, reproduce, and publish those operational deliverables for program delivery and publicity. Media consent, privacy, safeguarding, and withdrawal rules continue to apply.
