b54 first contacts the proposed winner privately through a verified channel. The notice states that selection is conditional until the named checks and acceptance steps are complete; identifies the Prize, amount, currency, recipient, delivery target, and material obligations; sets a response deadline; and repeats that no fee is required.

The winner confirms acceptance, legal name, safe delivery details, and any required declaration. Publicity consent is specific: a winner may approve the use of their name, institution, headshot, short biography, research title, and approved summary. b54 does not publish private identity, bank, tax, contact, or verification documents.

The winner and staff follow the announcement embargo. If the proposed winner declines, does not respond, or fails verification, b54 may consider the recorded reserve or make no award under the same process.

The public announcement identifies the Prize and winner and gives a concise, evidence-based explanation connected to the published criteria. It must not reveal confidential scores, reviewer identities, unpublished research, or another applicant’s information. Correct material public errors promptly and transparently.
