The published Prize page defines the eligible discipline, study level, location, completion period, and whether applications may be individual, co-authored, or institution-linked. Eligibility must exist at the deadline and may be checked again before an award.
Before submitting, an applicant should be able to confirm that:
- their identity, contact details, institution, level, authorship, and contribution are accurate;
- the work is original, lawful, and submitted with every required co-author, supervisor, institution, ethics, data, and third-party permission;
- quotations, datasets, code, images, prior publications, generated material, and reused work are identified and attributed;
- the same work and any other pending award, publication, commercial, employer, or university interest is disclosed where requested;
- no staff member, reviewer, partner, or intermediary has promised a score, shortlist, or award.
b54 may require these declarations to be explicitly accepted or reconfirmed during screening or before an award. b54 staff, current reviewers, and anyone able to influence that Prize may not enter it. Their close personal, supervisory, financial, or institutional relationships must be disclosed and may make an entry or reviewer assignment ineligible. False or incomplete representations may lead to rejection, revocation, recovery, or a future-program restriction.
